Pump-Ocalypse Ingredients: Label Amounts and Evidence Limits

PUMP-OCALYPSE is a caffeine-free supplement with several ingredients marketed for pumps and exercise performance. Its ingredient list is useful for comparison, but a formula can be clearly labeled without every promised benefit being established. The important questions are what a serving contains, what researchers actually tested, and whether the two match.

What the manufacturer currently lists

The manufacturer’s ingredient listing gives these amounts per scoop:

  • HydroPrime glycerol powder, 65% yield: 3,500 mg
  • L-citrulline: 3,000 mg
  • PeakO2 mushroom blend: 1,000 mg
  • L-arginine HCl: 1,000 mg
  • Agmatine sulfate: 500 mg
  • Betaine anhydrous: 500 mg

Confirm the Supplement Facts on the exact flavor and container you buy. Ingredient trademarks identify materials; they do not certify that this finished mixture improves recovery or muscle growth. The amount of a blended powder also needs interpretation: 3,500 mg of a 65%-glycerol material is not 3,500 mg of pure glycerol.

Three evidence checks that matter

1. Citrulline is not a guaranteed pump

A randomized trial in 19 participants found that 8 g citrulline malate did not improve repetitions during a demanding resistance-training protocol. That is a different ingredient form and dose from this product. It illustrates why a familiar ingredient name is insufficient to promise extra repetitions, rather than proving all citrulline use is ineffective.

Keep outcomes separate. A change in an amino acid measured in blood, a subjective feeling of fullness, and a meaningful improvement in training are different findings. Evidence for one should not be presented as proof of all three.

2. Glycerol studies use specific hydration protocols

In a small cycling study in hot, humid conditions, glycerol was given at 1 g per kilogram of body mass with a substantial, measured fluid intake. The result cannot establish that a few grams in a mixed gym supplement reproduce that endurance protocol. Do not increase scoops or force extra water to imitate a research intervention.

3. The mushroom blend has its own research limits

A controlled mushroom-blend study used 4 g daily, whereas this product lists 1 g per scoop. Its one-week between-treatment tests were not significant; the longer phase was small. That is not evidence that one pre-workout serving rapidly increases oxygen use.

For arginine, agmatine, and betaine, ask for human evidence matching the form, amount, and proposed outcome. An explanation of a biochemical pathway does not establish a reliable benefit at the product’s listed dose. We did not identify a controlled trial of the complete current PUMP-OCALYPSE formula in the sources reviewed.

Use the label to prevent an accidental stack

Check PUMP-OCALYPSE’s current label and warnings before considering a purchase. A caffeine-free formula can still contain active ingredients that overlap with other supplements. Follow its directions and restrictions rather than a generic instruction to take additional scoops on harder days.

If comparing it with Bucked Up Pre-Workout, write down both serving sizes and repeated ingredients before considering combined use. Do not interpret two individually labeled products as an independently tested combination. A pharmacist or clinician can review suitability and medication interactions; FDA’s supplement guidance explains why that matters.

Decide what would justify the purchase

Choose a measurable goal before buying. If you are interested in training performance, record comparable workouts, including loads, repetitions, rest periods, and unwanted effects. A more noticeable pump alone does not answer whether the product is worth the cost. Changing several supplements at once also makes that judgment harder.
