Klean Pre-Workout: Klean Athlete Ingredients, Caffeine and NSF Listing

Klean Pre-Workout is a named product from Klean Athlete, not a generic category of “clean” supplements. The current manufacturer listing identifies a 200 g powder in Natural Lemon Tea flavor. Klean SR Beta-Alanine is a separate tablet product and should not supply the ingredient facts for this drink mix.

What is in one serving?

The official container label lists one 10 g scoop and 20 servings. Each serving contains:

  • TruBeet beetroot extract: 5 g, providing 300 mg nitrates
  • Organic caffeine from PurCaf green coffee bean extract: 75 mg
  • Vitamin C: 150 mg
  • Sodium: 140 mg
  • Carbohydrate: 7 g, including 2 g added sugars
  • Calories: 30

Other ingredients include organic cane sugar, natural flavors, citric acid, malic acid and stevia. Beta-alanine and citrulline are not listed in this formula. Its identity and composition therefore differ from many multi-ingredient bodybuilding pre-workouts.

How to interpret the label

The stated 300 mg refers to nitrates supplied by the beetroot extract; the 5 g figure is the weight of the extract itself. Keeping those numbers separate makes comparisons with other beetroot products more meaningful.

Likewise, organic caffeine still contributes to total caffeine intake. The FDA advises counting all caffeine sources; a natural source does not remove caffeine’s potential effects. A lower amount than another product is a measurable difference, not a universal safety guarantee.

Certification and use checks

Klean Athlete identifies the product as NSF Certified for Sport. The NSF official directory also lists Klean Pre-Workout with specific lot numbers. Athletes should match their exact product and lot against the current listing and their sport’s requirements. Certification should not be read as a promise of better performance.

The label directs adults to mix one scoop with 6–8 oz water around 30 minutes before exercise. It excludes children, pregnancy or nursing, and caffeine-sensitive users, and advises monitoring other caffeine sources. Review the complete warnings and consult a health professional about conditions or medications.

Is it the product you wanted?

Choose your comparison criteria before shopping: caffeine amount, nitrate disclosure, sugar content, serving count and relevant certification. If you searched “klean” hoping for a caffeine-free powder, this particular formula does contain caffeine. This is a source-based label guide; no claims about flavor quality, stomach comfort or personal workout results are implied.
