Identify the Nutricost Formula Before Comparing Value
Nutricost sells several different pre-workouts. This comparison uses the PRE Pre-Workout Complex Blue Raspberry 30-serving panel, not PRE-X or the separate version with creatine. A brand name alone does not identify the formula, serving size or best price.
Price Per Serving Is Only Half the Story
The inspected PRE panel lists one 13 g scoop with 200 mg caffeine anhydrous, 4 g L-citrulline, 2 g beta-alanine, 1.5 g taurine and 750 mg Nitrosigine. It also lists 200 mg Alpha GPC 50% material, 100 mg theobromine and 200 mcg huperzine A. These are label quantities, not proof that the finished product produces a particular workout result.
Use the Labeled Serving, Not an Assumed Two Scoops
For this 30-serving tub, divide the actual final purchase cost by 30 labeled servings. Its directions expressly say not to exceed one scoop in any 24-hour period; do not double the dose to chase a research ingredient amount. Compare the exact size and flavor, including shipping and any subscription commitment, rather than assuming every Nutricost scoop is a half-serving.

Bucked Up Original as a Benchmark
Bucked Up Original’s inspected Franken Juice label lists 200 mg caffeine, 6 g citrulline malate 2:1 and 2 g beta-alanine per 10.6 g scoop. Its citrulline malate is not gram-for-gram equivalent to Nutricost’s pure L-citrulline. Equal caffeine or a larger ingredient number does not establish equal effects or a better pump; NIH’s review describes limited, conflicting citrulline evidence. Compare complete labels and final cost, without assuming either brand wins.
