BCAA 2:1:1 Refers to Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine
The 2:1:1 ratio emphasizes leucine, but BCAAs are only three of the nine essential amino acids.
Complete Protein Usually Wins
If you already eat enough high-quality protein, extra BCAAs often add little.

Do Not Confuse Plausible Uses With Proven Benefits
The NIH exercise-supplement review finds inconsistent evidence that extra BCAAs improve performance, muscle gain or recovery beyond adequate protein intake. Training fasted, dieting or exercising for a long time does not by itself prove that you need a BCAA supplement.
For long sessions, consider adequate carbohydrate, fluid and electrolyte intake. For low-protein meals or a calorie deficit, prioritize sufficient daily protein and appropriate complete-protein foods or supplements. BCAAs do not supply all essential amino acids and are not a substitute for fueling.
