Which C4 STARBURST drink are you checking?
C4 Energy STARBURST refers to candy-inspired flavors from Nutrabolt’s C4 energy-drink range. The manufacturer’s 2021 launch announcement introduced Strawberry, Cherry, Orange and Lemon in 16-ounce cans. When shopping, check the exact line, flavor and can size. C4 Performance Energy, Smart Energy, Ultimate Energy and powdered pre-workouts should each be assessed from their own labels.
Caffeine and ingredients depend on the version
The NSF listing for C4 Performance Energy Strawberry STARBURST links a manufacturer label specifying one 16 fl oz can, 200 mg caffeine, 10 calories and zero sugar. Its ingredients include CarnoSyn beta-alanine, L-citrulline, BetaPower betaine anhydrous and N-acetyl-L-tyrosine. Niacin and vitamin B12 appear in Nutrition Facts; sucralose and acesulfame potassium are listed as sweeteners.
A separate 12 fl oz Strawberry STARBURST listing links a label with 150 mg caffeine, zero calories and zero sugar per can. This is why a flavor name alone cannot establish the dose. Check the amount for the whole container rather than assuming every C4 can supplies 200 mg.
These documented labels also differ from the original launch description, which advertised zero calories and no artificial flavors. The inspected 16-ounce Strawberry label lists natural and artificial flavors. Use the panel on the product you receive; do not combine facts from different versions.
What does that mean for a workout?
Caffeine can reduce perceived fatigue and help some exercise performance, but individual responses vary. The label’s inclusion of beta-alanine, citrulline or betaine does not establish their individual doses or prove that one can reproduces a research protocol.
The NIH exercise-supplement review describes beta-alanine research involving regular use over weeks. Tingling is a known side effect, not evidence of better training. A sugar-free drink also supplies little food energy, so plan meals and hydration separately.
Count caffeine before opening the can
Add coffee, tea, other energy drinks and caffeinated supplements to your daily total. The FDA cites 400 mg daily as an amount generally not associated with negative effects for most adults; it is not a target or a personal guarantee. Sensitivity, medications and health conditions can change the picture.
Protect sleep by considering both dose and timing. Avoid stacking this drink with another caffeinated pre-workout. Follow the can’s warnings, including restrictions for children and pregnancy or nursing, and ask a clinician about medication interactions or caffeine sensitivity.
