C4 Original has more than one formula generation. Cellucor’s current US Original listing advertises 200 mg caffeine; its separate older listing describes 150 mg. Both use the Original name. An article that calls every C4 Original scoop 150 mg or copies ingredient amounts between generations misses a material difference.
The current Watermelon example
This guide anchors its detailed quantities to the fifth-generation Watermelon facts image, rather than assuming all flavors and markets have identical panels. The pictured tub contains 267 g and 30 servings, with approximately one level 8.9 g scoop per serving.
- Caffeine anhydrous: 200 mg
- CarnoSyn beta-alanine: 2 g
- Velox components: 1.2 g L-citrulline and 1.2 g L-arginine
- Creatine nitrate as NO3-T: 1 g
- PeptiPump bioactive lentil peptides: 100 mg
- Toothed clubmoss extract: 5 mg, standardized to 1% huperzine A
- Choline: 225 mg, supplied as choline bitartrate
The panel also declares B6, folate and B12, plus 10 calories, 1 g carbohydrate and no total sugar. Its flavor-specific other-ingredient list includes sucralose and acesulfame potassium. These are package declarations, not findings from independent laboratory testing.
Read the named complexes correctly
The 4.5 g performance section is accounted for by 2 g beta-alanine, 1.2 g citrulline, 1.2 g arginine and 0.1 g peptides. It is not another 4.5 g to add to those ingredients. The 205 mg energy-and-focus section similarly combines 200 mg caffeine and 5 mg clubmoss extract.
One percent of that 5 mg extract is 0.05 mg, or 50 micrograms, of huperzine A on the stated standardization. Five milligrams of extract therefore must not be reported as five milligrams of huperzine A. One gram of creatine nitrate also must not be relabeled as one gram of creatine monohydrate or pure creatine.
Where the 150 mg figure belongs
Cellucor’s older Original page explicitly advertises 150 mg caffeine. That supports the existence of a different listing, not a universal specification for whatever a retailer currently ships. No exact older-flavor Supplement Facts or matching older product photograph was verified for this article, so its other ingredient quantities are not reconstructed here.
The difference between those advertised caffeine amounts is 50 mg per labeled serving. It does not establish that one version is proportionally more effective or appropriate. A scoop is product-specific: compare its gram weight, ingredient forms and complete panel before comparing prices or serving counts.
Keep the comparison tied to the container
The current manufacturer page warns against combining C4 Original with caffeine or stimulants from other sources and includes medication and health-condition restrictions. Its familiar name does not remove those conditions. Read the actual container’s full directions and warnings.
NIH’s ingredient review discusses beta-alanine research over repeated use, not proof from an immediate tingling sensation. This is a version-specific label guide, with no firsthand taste rating, guaranteed workout result or claim that another brand is automatically a better replacement.
